Nature

Haderslev Commune offers many opportunities for enjoying nature. There are numerous opportunities for walking along the public footpaths, and you can hire a canoe and paddle down Haderslev Fjord, Haderslev Pond or Gelså. You can experience inland dunes in the plantation in the western part of the commune or take a walk on the island Aarø to the east. In Haderslev Deer Park you can see red deer and fallow deer.

Aarø

If you would like to visit the island Aarø, you can go by ferry from Aarøsund. On Aarø there are four 1.5 to 6.5 kilometres long marked routes. In the old days Aarø was covered with forest; today a large part of Aarø is farm land. Aarø has a valuable plant and animal life.

Aarøsund
